Mantra Quotes & Sayings

This collection of quotes is all about personal mantras. Finding a personal mantra that is meaningful and the impact they can have on affirming our lives the way we truly want.

What is a mantra?

A mantra can be defined as a word or phrase that is repeated to help one meditate, reflect upon life’s events or to encourage and inspire someone towards the life they choose. It’s simply affirming a statement to oneself.

Mantras are an important part of many spiritual and religious practices. Many religions have their own set of mantras, such as the rosary in Catholicism and the use of Sanskrit during yoga practice.

In some meditation practices, a mantra can be a single word – the purpose being to focus and calm thinking, not on the meaning of the word itself.

How do I find a mantra that inspires me?

A mantra is not limited to one religion or even one practice.

Finding the right mantra for you can take time, but here are some questions you should ask in order to find the best mantra for you:

  • What is your goal?
  • How do you want to think?
  • How do you want to feel?

The reason you would like to use a mantra is because you want to accomplish something, so think about what that goal is before looking for a particular mantra.

For example, if your goal is to let go of anger then try meditating on the phrase “may I forgive ” or “may I let go” over and over again until you feel better.

Keep in mind that the mantra should not only be positive, but it should also relate to your goal, of how you want to think and feel towards something.

The following quotes about mantras are all a great starting point for thinking about what your inspirational mantra can be. In addition, if you want to use a quote as your mantra, then we have provided some suggestions at the bottom of this post for inspiration.
