Having just enjoyed the latest Netflix release Dumplin', I got to thinking about the concept of self-confidence and beauty. Because they definitely go hand in hand!
First of all, we need to ditch the idea that self-care is egotistical and selfish.
It’s essentially the routine maintenance that you would do on your car. It’s the mental, physical and emotional ‘maintenance’ that we need for ourselves. To keep us operating at our best.
Practising self-care is on ongoing challenge for most, including myself!
We know what we should do, but various forces and things inside and outside of our control often stand in the way. But we also know that when we are practising self-care well, then the benefits overflow into all the areas of our life – for the better!
Self care ideas for when you need to reflect, when you need to be energetic, creative, challenged, or when you simply need to rest.
At it’s most basic, self-care is caring for oneself.
It’s making sure that you’re caring for your mental, physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
Which is actually quite hard to do.
Especially with increasing expectations (from others and ourselves) and demands on our time.
